Read Across America Week March 2nd - 6th:
This week is "Read Across America" Week. 6th graders do not actually participate in the reading activities that are set up but are welcome to dress for the themed days if they want to.
Monday - dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character
Tuesday - Foxiest socks day (wear silly socks)
Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday (wear wacky, tacky clothing)
Thursday - Grinchiest green day - (may wear green but no camouflage)
Friday - Red and white day
Poster Contest - Your child is encouraged to participate in a poster contest in honor of Dr. Seuss. They may design a poster to represent their favorite Dr. Seuss book. Jonah McWaters' Baseball Tournament March 13th-15th:
School will be dismissed early Friday March 13th, 11:50 a.m., due to this tournament.
SAT TEST - March 16th-19th:
Students should be finished with testing by 12:30 p.m. each day. Please schedule any appointments after this time. Please encourage your child to do their best.
Spring Break - March 23rd-27th
McWane Science Center Field Trip:
You should have recently received a letter with all the details regarding this trip. For those who have not turned in your full payment, the final payment should be turned in by Tuesday March 3rd.
Huntsville Space and Rocket Center Field Trip:
A $10 deposit was due this past Friday February 20th, for those that plan to attend this field trip. Also, any parent that would like to be a chaperone should let Ms. Ferraro know.
6th Grade Graduation:

6th Grade Graduation:
Each parent should have received an email regarding our 6th Grade graduation. Although graduation is not until May 21st, we are busy preparing for this exciting event. Please be on the lookout for request for information and pictures as we move forward. Money ($42) for your student's cap and gown is due Thursday April 2nd.
Parents:
Since there are so many events and fundraisers going on right now, please send a note stating the purpose with any money you send to school.

Reading:
Skills Review for SAT: Reading comprehension, main idea, sequence, and inferences.
AR: Students should have completed 70% of their goal. There are 2 weeks until the end of the 9 weeks. Goals must be completed by March 13th. Please encourage your students to continue to work toward their goals.
