SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

McWANE CENTER FIELD TRIP

Dear Parents,

We are very excited to announce a fantastic field trip for our 5th and 6th grade students! The field trip will be to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham on Tuesday, April 7th. The departure time will be around 6:00 A.M. and we will return to school by 5:30 P.M.
We need a minimum of 4 chaperones for each of the 5th grade homerooms and 5 for each of the 6th grade homerooms. Due to the cost of transportation, Mrs. Baggett has directed that all students, chaperones, and teachers ride the bus. The cost of admission to the museum, the IMAX theatre, and the bus fare will be $42 for students and $37 for adults. (Chaperones do not pay admission to the museum.) The cost of the field trip may be divided into 2 payments: Payment 1-$21 for students and $19 for chaperones due on or before, Tuesday, February 17th: Payment 2- the balance of $21 for students and $18 for chaperones on or before Tuesday, March 3rd. This does not include the cost of lunch.
We will be eating lunch at the museum food court. It includes fast food restaurants - Subway, Pizza Hut, Build- A- Bowl, Hot Off the Grill Station and Red Mango Frozen Yogurt.
Please let your child’s homeroom teacher know as soon as possible if you are willing to be a chaperone. Also, please let us know if your child can not attend the field trip.
We are looking forward to this special event! For more information about the museum, visit www.mcwane.org. A detailed itinerary will be provided later.
