ANNOUNCEMENTS

  

National Honor Society Invitations: Congratulations to the 6th Grade students that have received an invitation to become a member of this prestigious group. The ceremony to honor these students will be Wednesday January 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the Cafetorium.

2nd Nine Weeks Award Ceremony: Monday Jan. 11th at 9:00 a.m. in the Cafetorium. The normal class schedule will resume after the program. Please plan to attend.

Report Cards on Achieve: Report cards will be available for viewing on Achieve Friday Jan. 9th.

Canned Food Drive: Recently parents received a note about the Food Drive. Please refer to this note for more specific information regarding your donation. Ms. Baggett has challenged everyone to bring 5,000 total food items for this drive. She has agreed to kiss a goat if we do. If every student brings at least 11 items we can reach this goal and get to see her kiss a goat. Please join in the fun!
Deadline for the donations is Friday January 16th.

 

 

5th Grade Math:

Please continue to review multiplication and division facts with your child. It is essential that students master Multiplication and Division facts. They are the basis for many of the skills that we will be learning the remainder of the year.

Section 3-1 Multiplication Patterns, pages 103-107 and R7, Section 3-3 Estimate Products, pages 112-115 and R8, and Section 3-4 Multiply by One Digit Numbers, pages 116-118 and R8 - Test on all three Sections Tuesday Jan. 13th.

Section 3-5 Problem Solving, pages 120-121 and R8 and Section 3-6 Multiply by Two-Digit Numbers, pages 122-124 and R9 - Quiz on both Sections Tuesday Jan. 20th.

Section 3-7 Multiplication Properties, pages 126-129 and R9, Section 3-9 Problem Solving, pages 136-137 and R10, and Chapter Review, page 143 - Chapter Test Tuesday Jan. 27th.

 

 

6th Grade Math:

 

Section 4-2 Simplifying Fractions, pages 204-208 and 681 - Quiz Thursday Jan. 15th.

Section 4-3 Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions, pages 209-212 and 682 and Mid-Chapter Review, page 213 - Mid-Chapter Test - Wednesday Jan. 21st.

 

Reading:

 

 "Lady Merida" - story from the reading book. Vocabulary sentences due Thursday Jan. 22nd. Vocabulary and Story Test Friday Jan. 23rd.

AR: We have taken the STAR test and our AR goals for the 3rd Nine Weeks will be set by Wednesday Jan. 14th. Please encourage your students to continue to work toward their goals.
