ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
 
PTO Fundraiser - Spirit Cards - On Sale for $15 - The homeroom that has the most sales will be awarded a Pizza Party. Please support this important fundraiser.
 
September 19th - Grandparent's Day Program - K-4 through 4th Grade 10:00 a.m., 5th/6th Grade Program 11:00 a.m.  in the Cafetorium, The Book Fair will also be in the Library that day. Grandparents may wish to take their grandchildren to the Book Fair to shop and are free to check them out to spend time with them on the rest of this "Special Day". Grandchildren should be checked out with the homeroom teacher in Cafetorium following the program. Please encourage all grandparents to take part in this special event.
Student Dress for Grandparents Day:
Boys should wear khaki pants and red, white, or blue collared shirts.
Girls should wear red, white, or blue dresses, skirts, or pants and blouses.
 
Monday, October 6th: Professional Development Day for Teachers - Students are out of school.
 
Friday, October 10th: End of First Nine Weeks
 
October 13th-15th (Monday through Wednesday Only): Fall Break - no school.
 
Thursday, October 23rd: Fall Festival - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Cafetorium.
 
 
5th Grade Math:
 
We started the review of the 8-9 multiplications tables Tuesday Sept. 9th. Quiz will be on Tuesday Sept. 16th. Final Test Wednesday Sept. 23rd. Please help your child to master this important skill.
 Mid Chapter Review - Sections 1-1 through 1-4, page 31 - Mid-Chapter Test  Wednesday Sept. 17th.
Section 1-5 Place Value Through Thousandths, pages 32-35 and R3 and Section 1-6 Compare Decimals, pages 36-41 and R3 - Quiz for both Sections Wednesday Sept. 23rd.
 
 
6th Grade Math:
 
Section 1-5 Algebra: Variables and Expressions, pages 42-48 and 673, Section 1-6 Algebra: Functions, pages 49-53 and 673, and Section 1-7 Problem Solving, pages 54-56 and 674 - Test on all three sections Wednesday Sept. 17th.
Section 1-8 Algebra: Equations, pages 57-62 and 674, and Section 1-9 Algebra: Area Formulas, pages 63-67 and 674, and Section 10-1 Perimeter, pages 522-526 and 698 - Test on all three Sections Wednesday Sept. 23rd.
 
Reading:
 
Due to Grandparents Day there will not be a story this week. We will work on reading skills: main idea and author's purpose.
 
AR: Goals have been set for this nine weeks. Please encourage your child to read in order to reach their goal. Each nine weeks two grades will be taken for AR. One is for the percentage of goal obtained and the other is an average of the AR test grades. There are four weeks left for students to reach their goal.
